Becoming a distributor of green pet supplies is fairly simple if you already own a pet business. Pet stores, veterinarian offices, shelters and pet grooming businesses can increase revenue by offering a line of green pet supplies for customers to purchase. This is similar to hair salons that offer products for sale in addition to hair styling, cutting and coloring services. Hair salons buy products at wholesale prices and sell them for more than they paid. This is how they make money. The same is true if you decide to become a green pet supply distributor.

Distribute Products On-site

1 Decide what type of green pet supplies you would like to sell to your customers. Green pet shampoos and food are popular products that are easy to sell.
2 Contact a wholesale distributor such as GreenPet or CentralPet to discuss products and cost.
3 Decide which products you want to stock and place an order.
4 Prominently display products where customers can see them when they visit your store or clinic.

Distribute Products On-line

5 Become an affiliate of an online green pet product store such as Only Natural Pet Store.
6 Add an advertisement to your website that links visitors to the green pet product website you choose. This link is provided by the store you are working with and connects people from your website to theirs. It has a special code that allows the store to know who referred the visitor to their website. If the visitor makes a purchase, you get a percentage of the sales.
7 Add a page to your website that features different products from the website you decide to work with. You may also decide to sign up for more than one affiliate program and provide links to each one so your website visitors and customers can comparison shop.
8 Tell your customers about your new product offerings. Put flyers out in your store or clinic. You also could send email announcements or mail postcards to your current customers to let them know they can purchase green pet products from you.
